From the Table of our Master Enchilada Roller …a message from Russell Ybarra Comforting a Friend A couple of weeks ago, a friend of mine posted on his Facebook wall that his dad passed away after succumbing to a brief illness. He wrote how they had recently celebrated his dad's 66th birthday this past October and on their way home, the two of them sang an old Merle Haggard song: 'If We Make It Through December.' He went on to describe his dad as a person who epitomized meekness and was kind and respectful to everyone he met. After reading the post, I decided to comment on his wall. I told him I was sorry to hear about his loss and thanked him for sharing his heartfelt feelings. They were celebrating this very special occasion at The Original Gringo's in Pearland! I have to admit, when I saw the photo, it did make me tear up. After seeing his two posts, I felt compelled to send him a private message on Facebook to offer him and his family complimentary catering from Gringo's after the funeral. There are some things in life that I feel I must do, and this was definitely one of them.
