FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – HOUSTON – The Gringo’s Mexican Kitchen location in Spring, Texas, the seventh of the nine Houston locations, is undergoing significant renovations to accommodate guests of the beloved Mexican restaurant.

Architect Craig Schuster, who designed the most recent location, Gringo’s Cypress, is the visionary behind the renovations. Schuster and his team will open up the Fiesta Room, formerly a private dining area, into the bar, creating a generous dining and bar area for all guests to comfortably enjoy. This new room will feature multiple televisions, 18 bar stools, booth and banquet-style seating, new upscale furniture and specialty lighting. For guests interested in a ordering from the bar, Gringo’s Champions will also add a walk-up bar top into the banquet room to accommodate larger parties during private events.

In addition, the other private dining room is undergoing renovations to provide a more inviting atmosphere. With the addition of a door into the service bar area and brick columns to conceal the waiter service station and entrance to the bar and kitchen, guests can expect a warmer, more intimate feel. Acoustical ceiling panels are also being installed to improve sound conditions.

“We are certainly experiencing growth,” said Gringo’s Champions franchisee Joel Perkins, “and we hope these renovations will allow our guests to enjoy all that our restaurant has to offer.”

Renovations have already begun and are expected to conclude in September. All construction will occur at night in order for Gringo’s Champions to maintain regular business hours so guests can continue to enjoy a delicious Pollo Loco or Cadillac Rita at the popular restaurant.

Gringo’s Mexican Kitchen is a family of nine full-service Mexican restaurants in the Houston area. All restaurants serve the highest quality Mexican food, offer a full bar and are open daily Sunday through Saturday for lunch and dinner. The Gringo’s brand identity is stamped with superior quality products combined with excellent value.

Gringo’s Mexican Kitchen Gives Back (Big) to Associates with Contest for Cash and a Chevy Camaro!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – HOUSTON – One lucky Gringo’s associate walked away with a 2010 Chevy Camaro this past Saturday as part of Gringo’s Holiday Sales Contest. In appreciation of their hard work during the holidays, ten eligible associates from “The Original” Gringo’s in Pearland were given the opportunity to win cash or a Chevy Camaro during a “Deal or No Deal”-style game held at the restaurant.

“I wanted to show my heartfelt appreciation for the individuals who put in the time and sweat to make Gringo’s a success,” said Russell Ybarra, founder and president of Gringo’s Mexican Kitchen. “January 11 marks the 17th year we’ve been in business, and we wouldn’t be where we are today without the commitment and dedication of our managers and associates.”

The Gringo’s corporate team set up the event at “The Original” Pearland location where the ten lucky associates were drawn to play the game for a chance at winning a key that would start the Chevy Camaro. Throughout the game, players were given the opportunity to forego the chance at the car for cash. Cash amounts varying from $1,000, $2,500, $3,000, up to $5,000 were sealed in unmarked folders.

In Round 1, three players chose $1,000 instead of a key; two players were eliminated (one player had a key that did not start the car). Round 2, one player opened a folder with $2,500 cash, and another player was eliminated with a “no key” folder. For Round 3, one player opened a folder with $3,000 and two other players revealed folders with a key and without a key. Crystal Childs had the winning key that started the car, winning $25,000 toward a 2010 Chevy Camaro.
